History

The firm was originally formed in 1983 by William B. Kirksey a former partner of Alvin M. Binder. Starting with a local general practice, the firm now serves the entire state, and other states, with the firm being involved in numerous criminal Defense trials, and Capital Murder Trials in Mississippi, with Mr. Kirksey serving as a special public defender when called upon by the Circuit Judges. The firm has handled criminal cases in Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas, California, New Mexico, Georgia, and Virginia. The firm has been involved in numerous Federal Criminal Trials, as well as high profile litigation in DUI , actions for Declaratory relief of State Statutes on Video Poker, Bingo, and interpretation of local pornography and liquor statutes. The firm was involved in the formation of the Mississippi Attorneys for Constitutional Justice, the local affiliate of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, with Mr. Kirksey serving as a Board of Director and President. Mr. Kirksey has lectured on the Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorneys seminars, the Conference of Circuit Judges on behalf of the Mississippi Judicial Conference in the field of Capital Murder litigation, as well as having lectured to numerous bar associations. In 2012, Christina R. Huffman joined the firm. Until May 2019, Ms. Huffman and Mr. Kirksey worked together to provide quality representation to each client. Each is dedicated to maintaining honor and integrity in the practice of law. Mr. Kirksey passed away in May of 2019.
